
LEAD- Leadership Education And Development - is LSUS's unique inter-institutional character and leadership development academic enhancement program. The program offers LSUS students from all majors an opportunity to positively develop their personal character along with their leadership knowledge and abilities while also increasing the value of their undergraduate degree and resume. Value is added through earning a Leadership Certificate and/or a Leadership Minor in conjunction with the regular chosen undergraduate degree.
Leadership Certificate
The first level of achievement in the LEAD Program is a nine-hour "Leader of Character Leadership Certificate." To earn the certificate, students successfully complete any three (3) leadership classes. The required nine hours can be accumulated by completing any three of the following classes: Leadership 201, 202, 301, 302, 401, 402, 405 or Management 431.
Leadership Minor
The second level of achievement is a Minor in Leadership. To earn a minor, students successfully complete six (6) classes, 18 hours, which includes five (5) leadership classes (15 hours) and one (1) advanced communications or speech class. The required eighteen hours can be accumulated by completing any five of the following: LDSH 201, 202, 301, 302, 401, 402, 405 or MADM 431 plus one of the following: COMM 330, 331, 355, or 440
